An empty post, to see if this still works.

Thanks to all for the good wishes. I almost connected with Kevin at CSJB in New Jersey last weekend....almost!! I have just reread Fr McKenna's fall ember letter about prayer being the only thing left. I am feeling that way about the horror before us as we promise the world "shock and awe". Back in Vietnam War days we used to have a poster of bombs falling, with the legend "My God, My God."

Next weekend I will have a small group on silent retreat and hope to spend the silence entered into the Prayer of the Universe just as fully as I am able.

What are the plans for Chapter? Some of us need to get travel arrangements going. Thanks. Elena+, OPA

Congratulations to Sister Elena on her ordination this week, and continuing prayers for the order, that we may learn the value of our Lenten mortality, and by grace attain to Easter life.

I missed the feast of Blessed Catherine de Ricci, but I was thinking of you all at services Tuesday.

Congratulations again to Sister Elena, at whose ordination I unfortunately will not be able to be present. That reminds me, though—what were the dates of the summer teaching mission that we had been discussing? I’ve been invited to sepak at a conference in early June, and I’m beginning to dread an impending conflict.

A colleague and I just received a Wabash Center Grant to fund the first phase of The Disseminary, a resource center for online theological learning apart from credits, payments, time-delimited sessions, grades, and so on. We’ll be taking the site live shortly after the check comes through, and will be announcing there the various resources we can add to the site. (We already have a satisfying XML scheme and at least one commissioned article in the works.) A truly Dominican project (I hope) in its intent. . . .

On the feast day of Thomas Aquinas, the Order continues, as always, in my prayers and best wishes.
